Socializing with A-grade classmates can improve students’ academic performance. However, students tend to socialise with A-graders only to get help, while they prefer to make friends with those whose academic performance is similar to their own. PayPal Awards $100,000 Battle Hack Prize to Team Moscow for Donate Now App
PayPal, the service that allows people to send payments without sharing financial information, announced the $100,000 grand-prize winner of its Battle Hack Series, a global hackathon competition. The two-day Battle Hack World Finals took place at the PayPal Headquarters in San Jose and hosted 10 teams of developers from across the globe.
Winter Schools for Prospective Masters’ Students
The Winter Schools’ Programme for prospective masters’ students has now become a tradition here at the HSE. This year, the schools programme has been set up especially for foreign students, and for this reason the working language of schools will be English. In February 2009, for the first time, the HSE organized a series of scientific and professionally orientated winter schools’ programmes for prospective masters’ students.

‘Visions of a Wider Europe’ at the HSE in Saint Petersburg
On October 14-16, 2013, the International Student Forum ‘Visions of a Wider Europe’ will take place at the HSE. The Forum is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the first negotiations between Russia and the WTO, initiated by the first President of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, and Russia’s imminent entry into the OECD.
