First-year Students Will Be Able to Get COVID Shots at HSE University
The new regulations ‘On the Organization of Studies for the 2021/2022 Academic Year’ feature in detail what will change for first-year students in the new academic year. HSE University will be organizing a vaccination drive in September for students aged 18 and over who are unvaccinated. Younger students will be eligible for vaccination once they turn 18.

New Safety Measures to Be Introduced at HSE University
Starting September 1, 2021, HSE University-Moscow is introducing new safety policies on campus to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They apply to students over 18 years old who have not had COVID during the last six months, have not been vaccinated (with a Russian or a foreign vaccine), nor have a medical exemption from vaccination. Free vaccination will be available on campus to all arriving students.
Nikita Anisimov Appointed Acting Rector of HSE University
On July 2, Mr Anisimov was introduced to the HSE Academic Council at its meeting at HSE campus in Pokrovka. Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Yaroslav Kuzminov, HSE University Academic Supervisor, and HSE University President Alexander Shokhin took part in the meeting.
Yaroslav Kuzminov to Serve As HSE University's Academic Supervisor
On July 1, The HSE Academic Council received and reviewed the letter of resignation from Evgeny Yasin, HSE University’s Academic Supervisor. The members of the Academic Council unanimously elected Professor Yasin as Honorary Academic Supervisor. In a secret ballot, Yaroslav Kuzminov was elected as the new Academic Supervisor of HSE University. Earlier today, Yaroslav Kuzminov announced that he is resigning as HSE University Rector. The Russian Government, in its capacity as the University’s founder, will appoint a new rector in due time.
Joint Department with the Bank of Russia Opens at HSE University
The Bank of Russia and HSE University have agreed to establish a joint department. The decision was approved by HSE Academic Council. Ksenia Yudaeva, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia, was appointed Head of the Department.
HSE University to Take Action on Grade Inflation
HSE University’s administration is determined to prevent the lowering of grading standards for students’ academic performance. Teachers will be receiving new grading guidelines in the next two weeks. The proposed grading criteria will become mandatory for all courses. Other measures are planned as well. The list of such measures was discussed by the Rector’s Council on June 15.
Reformatting Research Activity: First Large-Scale Projects Launched at HSE University
Less than a year ago, the Faculty of Humanities at HSE University launched four large-scale projects, bringing together representatives of different disciplines from different departments and campuses of the University. Their goals, content, staffing and expected results were presented at a meeting of the Rector’s Council. Other departments have been tasked with developing their own large-scale projects, which HSE University will be able to include in its application for the ‘Priority 2030’ programme.

The HSE University Supervisory Council chaired by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, gathered for its first on-site meeting after the start of the pandemic.
Dean of HSE Graduate School of Business Appointed EFMD Fellow
The European Foundation for Management Development, a global association of leading business schools and companies, has only 18 EFMD Fellows in the world—one for each main region in which the Foundation operates. All fellows are former or present deans of the leading business schools (such as IMD, Kellogg, CEIBS, ESADE, WU Vienna, HEC Montreal, to name a few).
