HSE University hosted a roundtable for international students, organised by the interuniversity student project Adventures of Foreigners in Russia. Participants of the roundtable received helpful tips and guides on adapting to life in Russia, along with practical information and recommendations on getting around, where to go, and what to do in Moscow during their free time. International students also shared their personal stories about why they chose to move to Russia and how their studies at the university are progressing.

New Clustering Method Simplifies Analysis of Large Data Sets
Researchers from HSE University and the Institute of Control Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences have proposed a new method of data analysis: tunnel clustering. It allows for the rapid identification of groups of similar objects and requires fewer computational resources than traditional methods. Depending on the data configuration, the algorithm can operate dozens of times faster than its counterparts. Thestudy was published in the journal Doklady Rossijskoj Akademii Nauk. ‘A Story about the Arctic’: New Photo Exhibition at HSE University
The opening of the ‘Khatanga. Heritage’ exhibition took place in the atrium of the HSE building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The event was organised with the support of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS). The educational project features photo materials with interactive tours, as well as a series of videos and a podcast that draw attention to the cultural and environmental aspects of the region.

Viva o Brasil!: HSE University–St Petersburg Hosts Festival of Brazilian Culture
HSE University–St Petersburg wrapped up International Partners' Week with a lesson on Portuguese, a workshop on the dances of various Brazilian regions, a lecture about one of the most popular Brazilian musicians and a live performance by his devotees. Organised by the Bachelor’s programme in Media Communications, the 'Viva o Brasil!' festival invited students to explore the culture of one of the largest countries in Latin America.

Researchers from HSE University in Perm Teach AI to Analyse Figure Skating
Researchers from HSE University in Perm have developed NeuroSkate, a neural network that identifies the movements of skaters on video and determines the correctness of the elements performed. The algorithm has already demonstrated success with the basic elements, and further development of the model will improve its accuracy in identifying complex jumps.

HSE Scores Best Results among Russian Universities at International Olympiad in Uzbekistan
At the Third Al-Khorezmi International Mathematical Olympiad (AKHIMO), held at Urgench State University in Uzbekistan, students from HSE University's Faculty of Computer Science scored best results among participants from Russian universities. The olympiad also featured contestants from Brazil, the USA, China, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
